Jason Paige
Jason Paige is best known for singing the iconic Pokémon theme song, a Billboard #1 hit that has become an anthem for fans worldwide. His influence extends far beyond the Pokémon franchise, with an extensive career as a vocalist. He toured with the legendary band Blood Sweat & Tears and shared the stage with Michael Jackson, performing Black or White at Madison Square Garden. Jason’s voice has also been featured in popular shows and films like Rick and Morty, Sponge Out of Water, and Sausage Party. Over the years, he’s collaborated with a range of musical icons, including Aerosmith, Enrique Iglesias, and Billy Porter, and contributed to notable projects such as The Scorpions, The Muppets, and more. His influence continues through his performances, music, and active presence across social media platforms.
Meeting Jason, the voice behind the original Pokémon theme, has been one of the most memorable experiences of our comic con journey. Often referred to as the "Voice of a Generation," Jason’s rendition of the theme resonates with millions of fans, old and new. My (Ranbert) first encounter with him was on June 22, 2023, at Nishi Market in Rotterdam, and just a few days later, Daryene and I had the opportunity to assist him at Heroes Dutch Comic Con on June 25. For Daryene, it was her first time meeting Jason Paige, while I was reconnecting with him for the second time in person. Before that, it was only online. It was a dream come true meeting him in person!
We had the honor of assisting Jason once again during the Winter Edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con in November 2023, where our kids finally had the chance to meet him too. Jason brings an incredible energy to every event, and his genuine passion for connecting with fans is always inspiring. Whether performing, signing, or simply interacting with attendees, Jason creates unforgettable moments. His fans love him just as much as he loves them, making every encounter truly special.

Persia White
Fans of The Vampire Diaries will recognize Persia White for her role as Abby Bennett Wilson, Bonnie’s mother. Persia has a diverse career, spanning acting, music, and activism. We’re excited to hear about her work in the supernatural world of The Vampire Diaries and her passion for environmental and humanitarian causes.

Elliot Page
Elliot Page, a celebrated actor and advocate, has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry with his remarkable performances and inspiring advocacy. Known for his Academy Award-nominated role in Juno and his standout performance in Inception, Page has consistently captivated audiences with his talent and authenticity. In recent years, he has gained further acclaim for his portrayal of Viktor Hargreeves in Netflix’s hit series The Umbrella Academy, a character whose story of growth and acceptance has resonated deeply with fans around the world. Off-screen, Page has shared his personal journey in his memoir, Pageboy, offering a raw and heartfelt perspective on identity, resilience, and self-discovery that has inspired many. Elliot Page was scheduled to be a special guest at Heroes Dutch Comic Con Winter Edition 2024, an exciting opportunity for fans to meet him and celebrate his incredible work. Unfortunately, due to feeling under the weather, he had to cancel his appearance. While this was undoubtedly a disappointment for many, his health and well-being are what matter most. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him at future events. Page’s contributions to film, television, and advocacy continue to inspire and empower fans around the world.
Reflecting on Our Comic Con Journey
This will be our second time attending as invited press at a comic con in the Netherlands and our first time representing Comic Con Wanderers at Heroes Dutch Comic Con! Our first experience with Heroes Dutch Comic Con was on June 25, 2023, at the Summer Edition. We were there specifically for Jason Paige, the original (OG) voice behind the iconic Pokémon Theme Song, and it was a day we’ll never forget. While I had met Jason a few days earlier at Nishi Market in Rotterdam, it was Daryene’s first time meeting him. We were thrilled to assist him during the event, making the experience even more memorable.
In November 2023, we returned to Heroes Dutch Comic Con Winter Edition, where Jason Paige was a special guest once more. Our kids were beyond excited to meet him in person, and it’s safe to say the family is filled with Pokémon fans for life!
Our third time at Heroes Dutch Comic Con was the 2024 Summer Edition. It was also unforgettable, as I had the opportunity to assist other incredible voice actors, thanks to our friends at Rotterdam Comics, whose support has been instrumental in making these moments possible. This summer, I attended, assisting the incredible voice actors, mainly Matthew Sussman, and a friend assisted Ted Lewis.
Matthew Sussman, a New York native, is best known for voicing Team Rocket's Meowth in the iconic Pokémon anime series. He brought the character's memorable voice to life, giving Meowth his sassy personality and snarky charm, making him one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. Matthew also voiced Slowking, the talking Pokémon from Pokémon: The Movie 2000, delivering the unforgettable line, "I could use some pants," which has remained a fan favorite over the years. In addition to his work on Pokémon, Matthew is also an actor and director, known for Kate & Leopold (2001), The Peacemaker (1997), and, of course, his voice work on Pokémon (1997).
Ted Lewis, from Bellingham, Massachusetts, is another legendary voice actor who voiced several iconic characters in Pokémon, including Giovanni, the head of Team Rocket, as well as James from Team Rocket and Tracey Sketchit. He also voiced several memorable Pokémon such as Gengar, Haunter, Snorlax, and Gastly. Ted’s voice work extends beyond Pokémon; he voiced Yami Bakura in Yu-Gi-Oh!, Jack Atlas, and Bandit Keith, adding depth and personality to these fan-favorite characters. Ted also lent his talents to video game characters, showcasing his incredible versatility as a voice actor.
After Heroes Dutch Comic Con Summer Edition, I got the chance to meet Jason Paige again on June 25, 2024, during a private signing event with Ted Lewis and Matthew Sussman, all thanks to Rotterdam Comics. It was such an honor to be able to assist Ted and Matthew during the event.
Later that same week after Heroes Dutch Comic Con Summer Edition, I got to assist Matthew Sussman and Ted Lewis again at a store signing event in Belgium, also organized by Rotterdam Comics. Jason Paige, too, had his own signing event that week at a different store in the Netherlands where we were able to meet him too!
These interactions were deeply meaningful to us as longtime fans of Pokémon, and we’re honored to have shared these moments with such legendary talents.
