Who Have We Met Before and More:
One of the best parts of returning to Heroes Dutch Comic Con is crossing paths with familiar faces and celebrating new milestones with amazing talent. We have a wonderful history with several of this weekend's guests!
Mattew Sussman:
We have met Pokémon voice actor Matthew Sussman before, first crossing paths with him at the Heroes Dutch Comic Con Summer Edition 2024. Since then, we have had the privilege of working with him at multiple conventions and signing events. As many of you know, Matthew was the original voice of Team Rocket's Meowth in the Pokémon anime and the voice of Slowking in Pokémon The Movie 2000.

Beyond the Pokémon world, you might also know his work from projects like The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Law & Order, or as Gravos and King Moros in Slayers Next.
Below I included a photo taken together with voice actors Ted Lewis (left) and Matthew Sussman (right) from their time when they were special guests at Heroes Dutch Comic Con Summer Edition 2024.

In our personal collection, we are proud to have several Pokémon TCGs signed by him, photos together, our Pokémon 2B.A. Master CD, and Topps Cards featuring Team Rocket's Meowth and Slowking.
Marlies Summers
We have also met Marlies Somers before, catching up with her at both the Summer Edition 2025 and the Winter Edition 2025, where she was featured as a special guest. Over the years, we have added several incredible Pokémon TCGs signed by her to our collection. Marlies Somers is a brilliant Dutch voice actress, singer, songwriter, and performer whose career has made her one of the most recognizable voices in Dutch animation and children’s television.

Active in the dubbing industry for more than three decades, she is best known as the Dutch voice of Misty in Pokémon, Layla in Winx Club, Vicky in The Fairly OddParents, Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls, Otto Rocket in Rocket Power, and Po in Teletubbies. Alongside her voice work, she also performs as a singer-songwriter under the name Summers, making her a truly versatile figure in Dutch entertainment. In our personal collection we have Pokémon TCG cards signed by her that feature Misty and Misty's Pokémon.
Christa Lips
Another incredible memory was meeting Christa Lips at an intimate private gathering, where we walked away with a highly sentimental, uniquely special Pokémon TCG card signed by both her and Veronica Taylor. It was an unforgettable moment having both iconic voices of Ash Ketchum, the legendary Pokémon trainer from Pallet Town, in one room.

Christa Lips is a phenomenal Dutch voice actress, singer, and translator who has spent nearly twenty-five years bringing the Dutch dub of Ash Ketchum to life. Her massive portfolio also includes voicing Tommy and Dil Pickles in Rugrats, Rocky in PAW Patrol, Spike in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic Boom, alongside her impactful work behind the scenes as a translator adapting international hits for Dutch audiences.
Jamie Campbell Bower
Looking ahead to this weekend, we will also be meeting Jamie Campbell Bower, and we absolutely cannot wait! Our photo op ticket is locked in, ready, and we are going to get an epic photo with him. Jamie Campbell Bower is a phenomenal British actor and musician best known for his terrifyingly brilliant role as Vecna (One/Henry Creel) in Stranger Things.

He has an unbelievable knack for diving into massive, fan-favorite fantasy worlds, having also captured hearts as Caius in The Twilight Saga, a young Gellert Grindelwald in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts universe, and Jace Wayland in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. He even got his big break working alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's cinematic masterpiece Sweeney Todd! And the hype doesn't stop there. It was recently revealed that he is joining the cast of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power for its upcoming third season, meaning he is officially collecting major franchises like infinity stones.
But what makes Jamie truly unique is how he channels that intense, dark energy straight into his incredible music career. He first rocked the scene as the raw, energetic frontman and lead singer of the London punk band Counterfeit, tearing up stages with heavy tracks like "As Yet Untitled."

After the band parted ways, Jamie embraced his vulnerability as a solo artist, creating a hauntingly beautiful, gothic-blues sound heavily inspired by dark gospel and artists like Nick Cave, delivering powerhouse solo singles like "I Am" and a massive hit cover of "Run On."

He is constantly evolving, having launched a heavy new band project called BloodMagic with the crushing track "Death / Rebirth," and he just reunited with his brother Sam for a cinematic new single called "Waiting For Your Love."
Here is a fun, cool connection: while we haven't met Jamie just yet, we previously met Dominic Sherwood and took an awesome selfie with him.

Dominic famously played Jace Wayland in the Shadowhunters television series, which is based on The Mortal Instruments books. This weekend at the Jaarbeurs, the circle is complete as we get to meet the big-screen Jace Wayland himself, Jamie Campbell Bower!
A Towering Addition to Eternia: James Wilkinson
The convention organizers (Heroes Dutch Comic Con) have also secured an absolute treat for action and sci-fi geeks by adding British actor and stunt performer James Wilkinson to the official summer guest list!

Standing at a commanding 6ft 6in, James brings a massive presence and incredible action credentials to the lineup. He is best known to genre fans for bringing the heroic, cybernetically enhanced warrior Mekaneck to life in the newly released live-action Masters of the Universe blockbuster film!

Trained at the prestigious Bird College of Performing Arts, James perfectly bridges the worlds of physical acting and elite screen choreography. Before stepping into the legendary realm of Eternia, he built a versatile international career performing high-stakes live stunt spectacles across Asia, mastering pyrotechnics, high falls, and extreme water-based sequences like Universal Studios’ WaterWorld show. Beyond Masters of the Universe, action cinema fans can look out for his hard-hitting roles in the thriller Bedlam opposite martial arts icon Scott Adkins.

We are so hyped to hear his behind-the-scenes stories about wielding weapons, and talk all things He-Man! Have you watched the live-action film Masters of the Universe already?
Pro Tips: Prepping and Protecting Your Autograph Items
Half the fun of a comic con weekend is getting your favorite memorabilia signed, but traveling to the venue and navigating crowded halls can put your items at risk. Whether you’re bringing Funko Pop! vinyls, posters, magazines, photos, books, or the printed selfie you just took the day before, preparation is key.
To keep your treasures from getting bent, scratched, or ruined in busy queues and public transport, keep these pro tips in mind:
🔹️ The Flat-Box Trick: If you are bringing a Funko Pop! to get signed, do not carry the entire box with the figure inside. Carefully open the top and bottom flaps, slide the plastic insert and the figure out, and leave them safely at home. Carefully fold the cardboard box completely flat and slide it into an accordion folder or a hard plastic top-loader. This saves massive amounts of space and guarantees the box won’t get crushed.
🔹️ Remove the Media Covers: The same rule applies to your favorite CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, or video games. Leave the plastic cases and discs at home. Just slide the paper cover art insert out and keep it flat in a protective sleeve.
🔹️ Invest in a Clipboard or Folder: For photos, magazines, and printed selfies, always carry a rigid clipboard, a hard plastic folder, or a dedicated art portfolio inside your backpack. The halls of the Jaarbeurs get incredibly busy, and one accidental bump from a passerby can instantly crease your favorite print.
Choosing the Right Colors & Contrasts
When you finally step up to the guest's booth, the color of the ink makes all the difference in how the final piece looks on your wall.
🔹️ Check the Background: Look at the artwork or photo you want signed. If it's a dark, moody background (like Stranger Things or Resident Evil), ask the actor to use a bold metallic like silver or gold so it contrasts beautifully. If the background is light, a solid black or dark blue works best.
🔹️ Make the Personalization Stand Out: If you are asking for a personalization (your name) or a favorite character quote, consider asking the guest to write the quote or your name in a different color than the main signature. For example, have the main autograph in a striking metallic paint pen, and the character quote in a contrasting sharpie color. It breaks up the text and makes the piece look incredibly dynamic and unique!
