Why Veronica Taylor Is Legendary

Veronica Taylor’s portrayal of Ash Ketchum defined the English-language voice of the character for the first eight seasons of the Pokémon anime, shaping how millions of fans experienced Ash’s journey to prepare to become a Pokémon Master. She also voiced Delia Ketchum, Ash’s mother, adding warmth and depth to the series.
Meeting Veronica in person is a rare opportunity to connect with the voice behind one of animation’s most iconic heroes, hear stories from her career, and collect autographs on Pokémon cards, Funko Pop! figures, posters, and other treasured memorabilia.
Fun Facts About Veronica Taylor
Veronica Taylor’s career extends far beyond Ash Ketchum, spanning decades of iconic roles in anime, television, and video games. She has over 230 credited roles across more than 160 titles, showcasing her versatility and longevity in voice acting. In addition to Ash and Delia Ketchum, she also voiced May, one of Ash’s traveling companions in the Pokémon anime. She’s well known for roles such as April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), Amelia Wil Tesla Seyruun in Slayers, Sailor Pluto in Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal, Nico Robin in the 4Kids dub of One Piece, and Ribrianne in Dragon Ball Super. Her work also includes modern shows like Welcome to the Wayne and Dinosaur King.
In gaming, she has lent her voice to major franchises including Fire Emblem and Advance Wars, continuing her presence in modern titles. She has also narrated numerous audiobooks, showcasing her storytelling skills beyond character acting. Over 25+ years in the industry, she has voiced main protagonists, supporting characters, and additional voices, demonstrating incredible flexibility and consistency. Her work has reached audiences across North America, Europe, and Asia, making her a truly international voice and a beloved figure in fandom communities worldwide.
Our Personal Pokémon TCG Connection
Within our Pokémon TCG collection, we have a mix of signed and unsigned cards that each tell their own story. Among our most treasured pieces are Pokémon cards signed and personalized by Veronica Taylor, addressed to both me, Ranbert, and Mirage Master — the name of my Pokémon-dedicated presence on Instagram and Facebook as a fan. As we look ahead to Global Card Show, we’re still deciding which collectibles to bring for our next autographs. Below I included one of the cards in our collection which is one signed by both Veronica Taylor and Jason Paige.

Tips for Collectors: Signing, Grading & Caring for Pokémon TCG and Collectibles
Meeting Veronica Taylor and getting your Pokémon items signed is a special experience — and taking care of those autographs afterward is just as important. For Pokémon TCG cards, consider having them professionally graded after they’re signed; grading preserves the card’s condition, keeps the autograph intact, and can increase long-term value by encapsulating it in a secure, tamper-proof case.
When bringing items to the show, transport them carefully. Use protective sleeves, top loaders, or portfolio folders for cards, and a rigid art folder for posters or flat collectibles to prevent bending, smearing, or damage.
For Funko Pop! figures, always remove the figure from its protective case before signing — the signature should go on the box itself, not the plastic case. If you’re carrying multiple items, you can fold the boxes flat for easier transport and to avoid crushing corners, then reassemble them after the autograph session.
Once home, store signed cards in acid-free sleeves or graded slabs, keep signed boxes out of direct sunlight, and avoid stacking heavy objects on top. Following these tips ensures your Veronica Taylor-signed collectibles stay safe, vibrant, and ready to be proudly displayed for years to come.
Make sure to check out the vendor booths in case you need sleeves, top loaders, protector cases for Funko Pop! and other stuff to protect your cherished possessions!
Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary: From Pocket Monsters to a Global Phenomenon

Pokémon began its journey in 1996 when creator Satoshi Tajiri and Game Freak released the original Pokémon Red and Green games in Japan for the Nintendo Game Boy, inspired by Tajiri’s childhood love of collecting insects and exploring nature.

Those first titles, known in Japan as ポケットモンスター 赤・緑 (Pocket Monsters Aka and Midori, romanized as Poketto Monsutā Aka・Midori), built on the original Pokémon concept, ポケットモンスター (Poketto Monsutā), where trading and collecting creatures through a simple link cable sparked something extraordinary.
Players could catch, battle, and trade Pokémon, explore the Kanto region, build their teams, challenge Gym Leaders, and connect with friends to complete their Pokédex, making collecting a central part of the experience. One of the most fascinating legends from these early games is Mew, a secret Pokémon quietly added late in development by a programmer as a fun surprise. It wasn’t documented in official guides or promotional material, and its existence spread through playground rumors and word of mouth, helping ignite the sense of mystery and discovery that became a defining part of Pokémon’s global appeal.

What started as a handheld game quickly evolved into a global universe that includes a long-running animated series, the competitive Pokémon Trading Card Game, feature films, mobile hits like Pokémon GO, and generations of new regions and Pokémon.

As Pokémon celebrates its 30th Anniversary on February 27, the franchise stands as one of the most successful and beloved entertainment brands in history, uniting fans across the world through discovery, friendship, and the timeless call to “catch ’em all”. As you can see this old artwork of Pikachu returned for the 30th Anniversary of Pokémon. Noone expected its return!
